Holycrap, it's been A MONTH since I last blogged. O.o

I haven't been really up to much... Just drawing and procrastinating, the usual stuff.

But every time I see that face, I just get filled with so much inspiration that it makes me want to break out into a little dance number right then and there.

</cheesy>

Just had a random thought. :B

What would you say to me if I told you I've been married 10 times in the past two years?

I'm in the middle of an unanticipated art block, for some reason... It's annoying how a week-long vacation can actually reduce your skill with the tablet. I should be practicing, but, what can I do? I get hypnotized by little shooter games that cheapened their special effects. Seriously, though, the Gunbound effects became annoying while I was away from it. I can't stop playing though. *_*

LEGEND OF ZELDA MOVIE YAY!

Hmmm... Also... Carsten and I have been together for a year and a half now... o.O Time flies when you're happy and having fun! xD

Gosh, I should be sleeping...

CATAGORY ONE : ABORTION
1] Do you want abortion to stay legal or be illegal?:
Legal. Otherwise, desperate girls would be doing... drastic... things left and right.

2] Would you ever get an abortion yourself (not counting rape or if it risked your life)?
No. Never.

3] Do you think abortion should be legal for everyone, or just in the case of rape or something life-threatening?:
Just rape and life-threatening stuff. There's still adoptions.

4] Why do you have the views on abortion that you do(ex. religion, someone explained stuff to you, etc.
It makes sense to me. D:

5] If your best friend got an abortion, would you still talk to her?:
It's their choice. I'd talk to them, yes, but I won't lie, my image of them would be a little... weird. :p

6] Should an age limit be put on abortions (ex.
only girls under 18 can get abortions or some other age)? Why?:
I don't think so.

7] What do your parents think about abortion?:
They're against it.

8] If you want abortion illegal, aren't you worried about more babies being left in dumpsters and women performing abortions with clotheshangers, killing themselves and the unborn fetus?:
See question number one.

9] Do you know anyone who had an abortion and regretted it?:
Not really.

10] Do you think abortion is a responsible or irresponsible way to deal with pregnancy?:
Hmmm... it depends on the situation. If she didn't use protection, then it would kind of be irresponsible.

CATAGORY TWO : GAY RIGHTS
1] Should gays have the right to marry? Why or why not?:
YES. Because LOVE shouldn't have a limit.

2] Gays should be treated like normal people, yes or no?:
Of course. o.O

3] Why do you think society acts so strangely about gay people?:
Because of mass ignorance.

4] Do you use "gay" as an insult?:
No. Never. xD

5] Can you be born gay, or is it a choice?:
Born. Science has proven it.

6] Is any older person in your family strongly against gays?:
Hmmm... I'm not sure. Most of my culture is, I think.

7] If you have any gay/bisexual friends, do you support them?:
I love them. <3

8] Some people don't think we're born with any sexuality and that we just "decide" later on.
Do you agree or disagree?:
Again, mass ignorance. I disagree.

9] Obama is against gay marriage, but is for civil unions. Do you think the same way?:
Hmmmmm... Whatever happens will happen.

10] Should gays be allowed in the military?:
Of course. They'd be fun company. ;)

CATAGORY THREE : DRUG LEGALIZATION
1] Should marijuana be legal or illegal?:
Hmmmm... I have no idea. xD

2] Some people think ALL drugs (cocaine, heroin, etc.) should be legal.
Do you?:
Er... some, probably. But not all. x_X

3] If marijuana became legal, do you think it would be less "taboo" and less kids would do it just to be cool?:
Probably, yes.

4] If marijuana became legal, would you be more tempted to try it?:
I don't care. o.O I can find other things to preoccupy myself with.

5] Should things like cigarettes and alcohol be illegal?:
I still don't see why people smoke... Alcohol... hmmm... yeah, of course it should be.

6] What are some negative aspects to marijuana becoming illegal?:
People trying to do it behind the government's back? Why not control it instead of illegalizing it? Hmmm.

7] And what about some positive aspects?:
No idea. o.o

8] Have you ever tried marijuana yourself? If so, do you think it's harmless enough to be legal?:
No. .-.

9] If marijuana became legal, what should be the minimum age you're allowed to purchase it at?:
18.

10] Is marijuana even a big deal to you?:
NO. xD

CATAGORY FOUR : EDUCATION
1] Teachers technically aren't allowed to fail you the first marking period because they don't want you to get yourself "into a hole you can't dig out of" and fail for the year. Is this a good method?:
NO. That's stupid and it makes people lazy. Kthx.

2] Do you believe that grades reflect intelligence?:
Nope. Good grades = The effort you put into school, and not necessarily intelligence.

Besides, I've seen a lot of stupid people on the top of the class. :)

3] I heard on the news that children that do their homework regularly are 35% more likely to get paid more than the people who don't do it regularly. What do you think of that?:
That's probably sadly true, actually.

4] There's a black history month and it's usually recognized in schools. There's also a women's history month, Native American culture month, etc. but they're not recognized in school or any other place really. Why is that?:
I have no idea...

5] Should teachers be allowed to hit their kids like old times?:
Hmmm... half of me wants to say yes. xD

6] Should teachers be allowed to talk about religion in a public school?:
Hmm... no.

7] Should teachers be allowed to talk about their personal lives to students?:
what, they're not supposed to?
LOLWUT.

8] Do you think that teachers should be stricter about spelling and grammar (especially since most people still mess up its and it's, you're and your, etc.
FUCK YEAH.

9] You have to take four years of English and Gym in high school, but not four years of any other subject. Why do you think English and Gym were chosen?:
Because English is used for communication. Without communication, where would we be. Besides, I love English. I don't really care about gym. xD

10] Is gym class really necessary?
NO.

CATAGORY FIVE : WAR
1] "Fighting for peace is like f-cking for virginity.

" True or false?
LOL. True. xD

2] Do you agree with the war in Iraq?:
No.

3] Obama thinks that the real war is in Afganistan.
Do you agree?:
Yes.

4] Will withdrawing our troops from Iraq be a good or bad thing?:
It will be, but it's probably going to take some time.

5] Do you think it's right for the government to draft men into the war, whether they're willing or not?:
NO. EFFING. WAY.

6] Even if you don't agree with the draft, do you think women should be drafted as well (as long as they're not pregnant and such)?:
People shouldn't be asked to die if they don't want to.

7] Do you think the war in Iraq was really necessary, even after Bush admitted there was no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq?:
No.

8] Does war really solve anything?:
Maybe. Conflict is human nature anyways.

9] Do you believe that world peace is possible?:
We don't live in a perfect world.

10] "Most wars start because of religion.

" True or false?:
That, my friend, is false. It's not because of religion... it's the people behind it fucking everything up.

CATAGORY SIX : MORALS & VALUES
1] Do you believe in sex before marriage?:
Eh... kind of, yeah. xD

2] What about bringing your kids up to be good Christian kids?:
Well, I'm bringing them up to be good kids and it's their choice if they want to be Christian or not.

It's her choice. .-.

Eh, no.

Never. Sorry. :p

7] Would you cheat on someone?:
NEVER.

8] Would you date someone of a different race/religion/etc.?:
Already have. xD Hahahahaha.
Asian/Catholic and White/Agnostic.
FTW. xD

9] Is religion the number one thing in your life?:
Well, it's part of it. :p

10] Do you personally believe you have good morals/values?:
I try.

CATAGORY SEVEN : FEMINISM
1] Women and men should be viewed as equals, right?:
YES.

2] Do you believe in stereotypes like "all women should shave their legs" or "all women should wear tight pants"?:
No. .-.

3] Do you think pornography is degrading to women?:
A little, yes.

4] Even if you don't like Hillary Clinton, aren't you glad that a women has gotten THIS CLOSE to becoming president?:
YES. YES. YES.

5] Do you think women that wear skimpy clothing are degrading themselves?:
Hmmmm... it depends, really. People should be able to wear whatever they want, but not if they look like they have an invisible stripper pole around them at all times.

6] What do you think about how women are portrayed in the media?:
With the Photoshopped pictures everywhere? Just dandy...

7] Is anyone in your family sexist towards women?:
Hmm... nope.

8] Do you cringe when someone says "feminism is stupid" when it's the idea of women and men being equal?:
YES.

9] People who are feminists are usually liberals. Are you a feminist and liberal?:
Somewhat. xD

Yep.

Hmmm... YES, too? xD

4] Do you think your school is being realistic about sex in health class?:
I never had sex ed. O.o

5] Should students learn about just condoms and the pill or all types of birth control?:
Everything. :)

6] Should parents be able to decide whether their child should learn about sex or should the school just automatically teach it?:
It's the parents' duty to educate their child first.

7] Should ALL schools, even religious ones, teach the truth about sex and not just abstinence only education?:
Yes.

8] Do you think schools are being realistic about teenagers and sex or do they just think they can scare them out of it?:
Scaring them out of it won't solve anything, but they're doing it anyways.

9] Have you ever been taught wrong facts in health class?:
Eh... yes. xD

10] Would you say your school has a pretty good sex ed system?:
I don't know. o.O

CATAGORY NINE : POLITICS

Democrat. PROBABLY.

2] If the election came down between only McCain and Obama, who would you want to win?:
Obama. :)

3] Obama or Clinton (must choose one)?:
Honestly, I have no idea...

4] Huckabee or McCain?:
STEPHEN COLBERT.

5] Do you think Obama is a terrorist just because he is Muslim?:
He's not Muslim, damn it.

6] Do you think Clinton can't handle presidency because she is a woman?:
She'll probably be a fierce president. xD

7] Do you think McCain is too conservative to be a president?:
Hmmmm... I don't know. o.o

8] Or do you hate all the candidates and wish there was someone better running?:
Stephen Colbert should be running. q.q

9] What qualities would the perfect president have?:
He should be intelligent. Unlike Bush. :)

10] Are you more of a radical, liberal, or conservative? Or do you just not care?:
Actually, I'm apathetic right now, but I'm probably liberal.

CATAGORY TEN : RANDOM
1] Some say 9/11 was planned by Bush.
Agree or Disagree?
It's stupid. In before Zeitgeist/Loose Change, no, just no.

2] Some people believe Obama is a terrorist and that he was/is Muslim.
Agree or disagree?:
NO.

3] Dick Cheney is against gay marriage but has a lesbian daughter.
What do you think of that?:
It's hilarious. :)

4] Do you think we really need channels like BET, WE (Women's Entertainment), etc.for each gender/race or do you think it just stereotypes genders/races?:
Er... I don't really care.

5] Should the government be honest with us and tell its people EVERYTHING (ex. some people say that the government hides information about contact with aliens)?:
Not everything, because it should still keep its secrets from other countries. BUT, YES, TELL US ABOUT THE UFO's.

6] Do you think prostitution should be legal?:
No.

7] What do you think schools should do to prevent school shootings from occuring?:
The person before me said it all: Guidance counselors should do their jobs. Period.

ZOOMBINIS!
SCARY, HUH?

Seven-year-old me was sitting on my Dad's desk in his tiny apartment in Japan when it happened. Thank God for my dad's instinct of the practicality of buying a computer. And, by the way, that computer is still alive, used by my cousins back home. I should try and look for a picture. :3

Anyways, my life was never the same again.

[Well, alright, the video game was in Japanese and I didn't play a lot of it, but still, it was my first one EVER. <3]

From the Zoombinis to my DS, times change. :3

It's your birthday and you're in a mess...

Wizard Of Oz.
FUCK. FUCK. FUCKITY FUCK.

That's about what my mind is thinking of right now.

It's my birthday tomorrow and I just HAD to research on college funding. Fucking ruined my fucking birthday it did.

Soooo... it turns out that I'm in quite a stew right now... I can't fucking take out a student loan unless I'm an "eligible non-citizen" (which I'm not according to them...) and I can't take out a private one unless I have a permanent resident or a citizen to cosign for me, which none in my immediate family are. And I can't possibly ask anybody else to do it for me, because I don't know anyone who could fucking do it. I can't afford to pay my education if I can't fucking get a fucking loan.

And I'm literally crying right now.

I don't know what to do.

I don't want to tell my parents yet, not tonight, because it's going to be a bunch of I-told-you-so's anyways. Nobody is answering their phones and I'm stuck here without anyone to talk to. This is my only outlet.

Someone come and fucking save me. I just can't think of a way to wriggle out of this damn mess.

I.

Don't.

Want.

To.

Go.

Home.

Happy birthday to me.

Awwwwwww... I'm going to delude myself into thinking that my girl Jillian won.

But you've got to hand it to little Princess Puffysleevetotegay...

To be 21 and showing in NY Fashion Week, it's quite a feat. Although Matthew from Project Catwalk beat him by one year, Christian beats him by just being more technically-capable and seemingly experienced. But I think he may be the most-deserving person to win PR since Jay McCarroll. He's not my style, but he still deserves it anywho.

I want to see Posh Spice in a Christian Siriano original. It might improve her tack-tack-tackiness, for once.

Besides, it was kinda cute when his lips started quivering before they announced that he was the winner.

Anyways, boring season, but the finale show was a whole lot of fabulous win. Best one since the first. I'll be watching the rerun when it comes out, just to get a nice permanent image of what the gorgeousness looked like.

FIERCE, everyone. :3

It's always the quiet ones...

I just watched an Asian horror flick that I've been meaning to watch for a while.

I don't think I'll be watching anymore anytime soon.

I just unearthed a long-buried memory of me and a couple of friends rescuing a stray kitten from a drainage ditch. My house was the nearest, so I took the kitten in, cleaned off the muck, fed it and made it a little bed using rags and a little plastic tub we used to wash clothes in. Unfortunately, my parents weren't too thrilled to have a "filthy" cat inside the house, so I had to hide her in a balcony I could reach via me and my brother's room. I told them I got rid of it, but I continued nurturing the kitten for the next couple of days.

And I couldn't let her in the house.

One night, it rained while I was asleep and that balcony had no roof. I didn't really go as far as thinking what I would do if that would happen. When I woke up the next day, the kitten was gone. I never saw it again.

It's weird how such a simple childhood memory could make you feel a bit sad. I wonder if it would have been different for the kitten if I had gotten rid of her. It would have still rained, then. And the kitten would still have no way to get food, seeing that it was a little too young.

Well, anyways, I want a pet. ._.

That. The skirt with the little pattern going on for it.

Here's a close-up:

SAFETY PINS!

When that walked into my TV yesterday, my only reaction was: "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?"
I don't even want to know how long it took.

Oh, Chris, you were ROBBED!

-----

Also, is anyone guitar-savvy enough to tell me the strumming pattern of The Moldy Peaches' "Anyone Else But You"? You know, the song Michael Cera and Ellen Page sing in the last scene of Juno. The chords are almost achingly easy, but being the musically-retarded person I am, I can't really figure out the strumming pattern. Help, please?
excuserod
Project Runway was filled with pure BS tonight like you couldn't even imagine. They handpicked the final three from the very beginning and it's kind of sad.

The only bad thing they said about Chris March's collection was that it was "pure costume". That was NOT costume. It was creativity. And what the effing deal is it about using human hair? Is it suddenly the most disgusting thing in the entire universe? People touch other people's hair all the time, so why the disgust? And, Chris even used hair in such a way that it wasn't as obvious.

Rami's was not my taste at all, and the judges had a lot more bad things to say about it. The only thing that stood out was a dress that was actually gorgeous and my mom wanted. AND THAT THING WAS DRAPED. Drape lust. Zander was right.

Anyways, what the hell, it's still going to be nice to see Jillian and Christian, but I'm just incredibly disappointed about Chris.

Come on, skirt with a print not-so-obviously made out of safety pins? WIN. On a more than epic level. I like. I want.

PLUS: My faith in humanity has dropped even lower. Just remember, kids, you're not alone in this world. There are other people with opinions out there and it's nice to listen not only to your own voice. Kthx.

Psssst... Reginaaaaaa... Is it time already?

  • Feb. 26th, 2008 at 10:58 PM
regina
So, guys, I went to see Regina Spektor yesterday.

Yup.

Regina Spektor.

AND SHE WAS AMAZING.

A-MAZING.

AND I NEED TO TALK IN CAPS TO TELL YOU HOW AMAZING SHE WAS.

Seriously, though, the cuteness that you see in her videos? It's the same in real life. She's just as cute as she looks. And her voice live is a thousand times more amazing than any recording, seriously. It's probably the best concert I've ever attended so far, even though it was notoriously short for me.

I don't think I should complain though, seeing that my last concert lasted over five hours long with about a number of opening acts. And the one band everyone was supposed to see didn't show until midnight and we had to go home at 2, with the band still playing. T__T And we had to suffer through three hours of torrential rain while we took shelter under a shed thing. I'm not sure even seeing Yael Yuzon and the rest of Spongecola in a private press room that night was worth all the rain. ._. [And, btw, Carsten, remind me to detail this story to you... or did I already? xD] BUT ENOUGH ABOUT THAT, LET'S GO BACK TO REGINA.

REGINA WAS AWESOME.

The stage was decorated very quaintly. It had the Steinbeck and Sons piano in the middle, with another wooden chair accompanying the piano chair. The wooden chair, of course, is known to Regina fans as something that she uses as a substitute for percussion. :) There were light bulbs of different sizes hanging as a stage backdrop and an electric guitar.

As you probably know, my brother and I are both under 5 feet tall. And we got in about 45 minutes late. (So we didn't really get to see Only Son perform, pity. T_T) So we were standing there in the back during the intermission, trying to figure out what to do to see Regina in all her glory above the heads of all these tall people. We went up to the balcony, but, oops, more tall people. So we move around the crowd until we see this couple trying to meander their way into the crowd. I nudged Von, we followed suit and soon we were in a (nearly) comfortable place on the right side of the stage, but we still had to tiptoe for the most part. >.<

A couple of minutes after we found the spot, the lady of the hour came out, dressed in a little black tunic with some kind of purple print on it. And then the crowd just LOST it. Including me. xD I think I yelled out, "I WANT TO HAVE YOUR BABEHZ" at some point. She didn't say anything and just grabbed the mic and began to tap on it with a rhythm. And then she began to SING a song the crowd wasn't familiar with, but made them wild again anyways.

It was after the second song (The Flowers) that Von and I decided to drop our shame and began to actually elbow and wade our way into the crowd just to get a better view of her. We had only one thing in our mind: THE PIANO WAS IN THE WAY OF HER TOTAL CUTENESS. Halfway into the meandering, this awesome girl actually told everyone to let us through... because they were going to follow the short people. xD And, yes, we did find a comfortable position, even though it was behind this lady that Von thought smelled of poop, and we didn't even have to tiptoe to see her properly!

One advice for the eternally short concertgoer: drop your shame while you cross the event doors.

And, of course, we have some... not quite half-decent pictures. We were still short after all and I happened to forget to charge the camera battery that afternoon. *facepalm*

Photobucket

"Democracy better fucking work."

She asked us to guess what color her guitar was. The choices were sea-foam green, teal and turquoise. Turquoise won. I'm having flashbacks of yelling how it's one of my favorite colors. Then she told us that we were all wrong and that the guitar was actually red. :)

Photobucket

"It tastes like soap but it doesn't really taste like soap."

YES, MICHAEL, SHE PLAYED MUSICBOX. WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Photobucket

There's always some kind of jacket or somebody's head in the way. Such is the woes of being a short person. You can slip into comfy places during concerts, but you always manage to take crappy pictures.

Photobucket

"I dream of orca whales and owls, but I wake up in fear."

Regina and Only Son. I still have no idea what his sound is, but, oh well. They both did a duet for Hotel Room. He provided the beats and she sang with her pitch-perfect voice. :)

I didn't get an autograph from Regina, obviously, because my brother had school tomorrow and we couldn't wait for her to come out. >.< But I got an autograph from Only Son. He's a really gracious fellow and he has the same hair as my ex, Alex. Actually, I saw quite a number of people sporting the same hairstyle, and I even saw a Josh Ivey look-alike. Should have taken a picture, but the camera was all wonky by the time I caught up with the person. Seriously, though, the resemblance was so striking that I had to blink a couple of times in confusion. HE'S EVERYWHERE. OH GOD, I HOPE THAT'S NOT TRUE. Well, the best souvenir I have of the night is Only Son's autograph. :) When I told him that it was my sketchbook, he did a gigantic doodle on the space where he was supposed to sign. His name is Jack, apparently. O.o

NOTE TO SELF: MUST FORCEASK TENTEN TO WATCH A REGINA SPEKTOR CONCERT IN THE FUTURE. :)

TL;DR? Sorry, guys. xD

PS: NEVAR PASS AN OPPORTUNITY TO SEE THIS WOMAN LIVE.

Sorry for only blogging about Project Runway all the time, guys, but I had to say this:

Oh, Marion, I knew you had it in you!

I'll echo what a lot of people at the fashion blogs are saying: It's such a shame that you went home so early, you would have been interesting to watch. But the silent ones always get cut first. Next time, I'll pick out favorites AFTER the second episode, kthx. He put out such a chic and innovative collection for the Bravo online thingy, and a lot of people were just pleasantly surprised!

Hitchcock indeed~! :D Thanks to PRGay for the screenshots. x3 Kudos to our ragamuffin flower merchant!

And because my dad's nice and going to be having an interview there, I'll be going to Texas sometime next month. Yes, we'll be stopping by Dallas! *_* I get to visit Marion Lee's flower shop! *squeal*

I'm glad Christian Siriano put out a horrendous collection, otherwise, it might have been a repeat of the fan favorite thing. Anyways, the reunion show was a snoozefest, and that's all I have to say about that.

Polly Syllabacus. *giggles* That's about the only part I can't get over... Along with Miss Michael Kors' laughing fit of course.

PS: My boyfriend is probably the first straight guy to ever do a portrait of Tim Gunn. <3 YAY.

Is today's theme.

I went on an epic search to find a missing item TWICE today. And TWICE they were somewhere that were in plain sight the whole time.

PLUS: Four very annoying little kids of different ages. That won't leave you alone. All day long.

Now I feel swamped, big time.

Out of curiosity, I went and searched for the Parsons art school and how much it would cost to go there.

WHOAH MOMMA.

If there's one thing I can't stand reading, it's these domiciliary guideline things, or any legal information for that matter! They make it sound all too complicated.

"1. An independent student or emancipated minor must establish by clear and convincing evidence that for a period of at least one year immediately prior to the date of alleged entitlement, the student was domiciled in Virginia and had abandoned any previous domicile.

2. A dependent student or unemancipated minor must establish by clear and convincing evidence that for a period of least one year immediately prior to the date of alleged entitlement, the parent or legal guardian through whom the student claims eligibility was domiciled in Virginia and had abandoned any previous domicile. "

In short...

"If you're already independent, you have to prove that you live in Virginia and not in North Carolina or any other state for one year. If you're not independent, then you should prove that you live with your parents in Virginia, and not in any other state for one year."

Yay me for trying to understand the law at 12 midnight.

I love the bureaucracy. Really, I do.

AND, NEWS FLASH, I MIGHT BE SPENDING SOME TIME IN NC FOR SPRING BREAK.

YAYZORZ.

That is if Zander doesn't come to visit, which will be very likely. T___T Either way, it'll be fun. x3

I'm going to kidnap you for an entire we- month this summer, Zander. ._____.

How would you feel if...

You went to bed at 1am for the past week and woke up at 5am afterwards?

But I bet a lot of you have done that already.

Ho-hum. I need my sleep. I don't want to worry about the folds on those jeans anymore, mommy.

Should I find a reason to insert something Cloverfield-related here? Naaaaaah.

CLOVERFIELD. .______.

PLUS...
I'm craving for a Venti Mocha Frappuccino.
And a brownie.

I'm looking forward to my Sunday drive, big time. D:
